REVIEW: So Embarrassing

Graphic novels are very popular with young readers now. For that reason this book fits right in. Sometimes it's best to use humor when dealing with difficult situations, and this book points that out.

FROM THE PUBLISHER: A graphic novel that makes embarrassment into something hilarious – and normal.

Laugh-out-loud funny yet enormously compassionate, So Embarrassing is a comics-style compilation of stories about awkward and embarrassing situations for kids. Written and drawn by Charise Mericle Harper, the bestselling creator of the Just Grace series, So Embarrassing combines humor, science facts (what happens when we blush, for example), tips for quickly recovering from a cringe-worthy situation, and practical advice––like what to say to comfort a totally embarrassed friend.

REVIEW: Everybody Deserves a HUG

I tried this book out on my five year-old granddaughter and she loved it. She kept turning back the pages, as we read, so she could see the colorful characters. They looked like trolls to her and kids seem to like those these days.

FROM THE PUBLISHER: Everybody Deserves a Hug delivers a timeless, universal message in a rhyming children's picture book. In the tradition of Dr. Seuss, the award-winning author, Doug Snelson, embraces love, kindness, inclusion and understanding just when the world needs it most. Doug collaborated with his illustrator/designer daughter, RenĂ©e, who created the colorful, whimsical characters exuding sweetness, joy, and hope. The engaging rhyming couplets amplify the vivid and striking color illustrations that will undoubtedly delight children, parents, and grandparents. This 8x10, 32-page picture book is an excellent teaching tool for primary school grades. Children's reading skills improve from repetitive rhyming patterns and phrasing.
